Bhrigu lake located at an elevation of around 4,300 metres (14,100 ft) in Kullu district, Himachal

Pradesh, India. It is located to the east of Rohtang Pass and is around 6 kilometres from Gulaba. It can be reached by trekking either from the Vashishth temple, which is famous for its hot water springs and is close to the town of Manali. The lake is a part of Pir Panjal mountain range.

It is named after Maharishi Bhrigu. Legend has it that the sage used to mediate near the lake and hence it has been rendered sacred. The locals believe that due to this the lake never freezes completely.

Day 1: 27 May- Reporting at Manali base camp (Shikharpar Hotel/ Home stay)
  • Drive from Manali bus stand to Shikharpar
  • Room Allotment and Freshen up

  • Acclimatization trek to “Jogini Water Fall”
  • Introduction – Mountain Do’s and Don’t
  • High tea/ soup

Day 2: 28 May- Camp 1- Shikharpar to Gulaba (drive) and trek to Raul Kholi (Altitude 3,830 m)
  • B’fast by 7:00 am and then drive till Gulaba. Our trek starts from Gulaba till Raul Kholi (~ 4hrs trek)
  • Packed lunch for the day
  • Evening free for photography & sightseeing
  • High tea/ soup
  • Dinner
  • Stay in tent at Raul Kholi
Raul Kholi is a scenic grazing ground used by local shepherds. Located at the base of Bhrigu Lake, it makes for an ideal camping spot. Trek from Gulaba till Raul Kholi is the scenic walk through forest cover passing through open grasslands every now and then.  Mountain peaks like Hanuman Tibba, Seven Sister peaks can be seen from the valley. As we ascend the ridge, capture the beautiful view of Manali and Solang Valley.
Day 3: 29 May- Camp 2- Raul Kholi to Bhrigu Lake (Altitude 4,270 m, 4 hrs trek)
  • B’fast by 6:30 am and then trek to Bhrigu lake
  • Lunch @ camp site
  • Evening free for photography & sightseeing
  • High tea/ soup
  • Dinner
  • Stay in tent at base of Bhrigu Lake
Bhrigu Lake rests between two high-altitude ridges. Once we start climbing the ridge the trail slowly turns to brown and white from green. The lake is oval in shape and surrounded by snow. You can catch a stunning panoramic view of Pir Pinjal and Dhauladhar ranges. Also, major peaks like Mt. Indrasen, Mt. Deo Tibba and Mt. Hanuman Tibba stand majestically before you.
After spending time at the lake, head down to new Camp Site at base of Bhrigu Lake.
Day 4: 30 May- Camp 3- Bhrigu Lake to Mori Doog (Altitude: 2,070 m, 4 hrs trek)
  • B’fast by 7:00 am and then trek to Mori Doog
  • Lunch @ camp site
  • Evening free for photography & sightseeing
  • High tea/ soup
  • Dinner
  • Stay in tent at Mori Doog
Today’s trek is an easy one. Descend through the forest ridge of Pandu Ropa. Once you exit the forest ridge, treat yourself to a grand view of Kullu Valley.
Day 5: 31 May- Base camp- Mori Doog to Vashistha and drive to base camp (~ 4 hrs trek)
  • B’fast by 7:00 am and then trek to Vashistha
  • Drive from Vashistha to Base camp Shikharpar
  • Lunch @ Shikharpar
  • Evening free for shopping at Mall road
  • Grand Camp Fire and Bada Khana
  • Stay at Shikharpar
Vashistha is an old Kullu village with several native stories about Sage Bhrigu and the Pandavas.
The trek ends at Vashisht. At Vashistha you can take a holly dip in hot springs.
Day 6: 01 Jun- Trek ends with sweet memories
Post B’fast we will have a feedback Session and Vote of Thanks
participants will depart for Manali with sweet memories and lovely trekking experience

  • Any tips, and any meals apart from the ones mentioned above. 
  • Any other tax or service charge stay charge that could be enforced during this period will be Extra and need to be borne by participant.
  • Any service not specifically mentioned in the Includes sections.


All travelers are advised to purchase travel insurance that provide care and services for sickness, Accidents, emergency rescue, ted. Related to international travel.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations prior to 90 days from the start of the trek — full refund
Cancellation between 89 days and 40 days to the start of the trek — 50% refund
Cancellation less than 39 days to the start of the trek — no refund.

If a trek is called off at the last moment due to a natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rains, earthquake, landslides, strike/bandh etc.), Nisarga Bhraman will not be responsible and will not give any refund.

Drop out during trek: If for some reason a participant has to drop out from the trek on any day then Nisarga Bhraman, will make arrangements for his/her return up-to base camp. The stay cost at has to be borne by the participant.

Rules & Regulations
  • Consumption of alcohol, Drugs, Narcotics is strictly banned on the event & should lead to expulsion from the trek
  • The leader’s decision will be final and binding on all members. No arguments will be entertained
  • Each member will be responsible for his/her own safety and baggage
  • Avoid medication such as sleeping tablets, sedatives, strong painkillers, and anti-histamines Which depress the respiration and increase the risk of AMS- (Acute Mountain Sickness) especially while sleeping
  • Please do not wear any jewellery or gold chains/rings
  • Please do not litter, we believe in the saying, “Wherever you go, leave only your footprints and take back only memories.”
Hiking / Trekking / Rock climbing is an adventurous activity and accidents can happen despite taking utmost caution and care. The organization will not be responsible for any injury / accident / death to the participant while on trek.
Medical Disclaimer:
It is Important to be physically fit while on treks. If suffering from any allergy or ailment, please bring prescribed medicines to prevent serious health problem including heatstroke, severe headache, cough, dehydration and hypothermia. Participants suffering from chronic conditions like asthma bronchitis, blood pressure, migraine, diabetes etc. should take permission from their physicians before treks.
