Event Details
Overview- 

Kuari Pass means Doorway. Kuari Pass Trek is also known as Lord Curzon’s trail. The trail is blessed with oak trees, deodar forests and untouched Rhododendron. It provides stunning 360 views of the Himalayas like Trishul, Chaukhamba, and Kamet, Nanda Devi peaks, Nanda Ghunti, Neelkanth, Dronagiri, Changbang, Mana, Mukut Parbat, Rishi pahad and others. Mount Nanda Devi is the highest peak in India. 
Kuari Pass is open throughout the year. The best time to do the trek is during winter when it is covered under a thick blanket of snow.

How to Reach- 
Dhak village is the base village for Kuari pass trek. It is 12 km from Joshimath, the town located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Joshimath has a well connected to Rishikesh, Haridwar and Dehradun. There are plenty of hotels and hostels for you to stay.

By Road: Book a cab to reach Rishikesh or overnight Volvo bus from ISBT Kashmere Gate- Delhi to Rishikesh is the most convenient mode of travel to reach Rishikesh from Delhi.
By Air: Jolly Grant Airport- Dehradun, is the closest airport. Which is 20 km from Rishikesh.
By Railway: Rishikesh junction is the nearest railway station. Haridwar is also well connected to the rail network that connects to major cities of India. From Haridwar you can book taxi or travel to Rishikesh by shared cab or local bus.

Itinerary
Day 1: (Monday 9th Jan'23) Haridwar to Joshimath (Drive)
  • Joshimath Altitude: 6,700 feet
  • Drive 256 km, 10 hours
  • Trekkers will be picked from Haridwar railway station at 5:45 am in a Bolero/Sumo/Tempo Traveler or a similar vehicle. These are the best vehicles for the Himalayan roads.
  • 5:00 pm is the expected arrival time at Joshimath.
  • Tea with Briefing/Orientation, check list
  • Buy/Rent Personal gears
  • Mobile network available
  • Overnight stay in rooms

From Dehradun pick will be arranged and we will head towards Joshimath. Enjoy the beautiful ride. Overnight stay will be in a guest house/home stay in Joshimath.

On the way places to see:
  • Devprayag (confluence of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda) 'Where Ganga Starts'
  • Rudraprayag (confluence of Mandakini and Alaknanda)
  • Nandprayag (confluence of Pindar and Alaknanda)

Day 2: (Tuesday 10th Jan'23) Joshimath to Dhak to Gulling (Drive & Trek)
  • Gulling Altitude: 9,600 feet
  • Drive to Dhak village 12 km, 1 hour
  • Trek 6 km, 4-5 hours
  • Hot lunch at campsite
  • Overnight stay (camps)

We will leave early after breakfast at around 7.30 am and drive towards the Dhak village the starting point of the trek. The trail leads to Tugashi village. After this you will find yourself walking amidst the oak forests. The trail then further opens to vast meadows.

Day 3: (Wednesday 11th Jan'23) Gulling to Khulara (Trek)
  • Gulling Altitude: 11,000 feet
  • Trek 4 km, 4-5 hours
  • steep ascent up to Tali top, later gradual
  • Overnight stay (camps)

The trail goes through vast meadows, mixed forest of Oak, Rhododendron & walnut and you will get stunning views of Himalaya.

Day 4: (Thursday 12th Jan'23) Khulara to Kuari Pass & return (trek)
  • Kuari Pass Altitude: 12,500 feet
  • Summit Day
  • Trek 15 km to and from, 10-11 hours
  • Early morning breakfast, start the trek
  • Strenuous ascent to Kuari Pass
  • Overnight stay (camps)

The trek will leave you speechless because of the charming views. You cannot stop gushing over the scenery which you will get to witness as you reach the top of Kuari Pass. It will take around 5 hours to reach the Kuari top. Along the trail you will be welcomed by the beautiful mountains like Neelkanth, Nanda Devi, Hathi Godha Parvat, Dronagiri, Pangarchulla and Chaukhambha. The perfect spot to click photos and take videos. We will head back towards the same route to the campsite by late afternoon. Rest in camps.

Day 5: (Friday 13th Jan'23) Back to Joshimath via Gorson Bugyal & Auli
  • Joshimath: 6,700 feet
  • Trek 9 km, 6-7 hours
  • Route: Gorson Bugyal - Auli - Joshimath
  • Packed lunch provided
  • Overnight stay in rooms

A day to witness and soak into the views of Mt. Nanda Devi, the 2nd highest mountain in India. The initial climb to Tali Lake is through the forest and then treks on a sharp ledge for ~1.5 km. The mountains get bigger as you walk on the lovely Gorson Bugyal to end the trek at Auli.

The drive from Auli to Joshimath is around one hour.

Day 6: (Saturday 14th Jan'23) Joshimath to Haridwar (drive)
  • The last day of Kuari Pass Trek, drop to Dehradun railway station will be provided.
  • Drive 256km, 9-10 hours
  • start early in the morning, breakfast
  • drop at Dehradun by 6pm. Schedule further bookings by 8pm with buffer time
  • Return back home with lots of sweet memories.

  • The above plan is based on an “Ideal” scenario where everything goes per plan & considering that there is no breakdown. It is subject to change in Real Time based on ground realities.

  • Expenses personal in nature like mountain tips, mineral water, drinks, snacks/meals, refreshments not mentioned in the inclusions.
  • Backpack off-loading
  • Liability for or insurance against injury, loss of life, accidents, or loss of goods.

Insurance:
All trekkers are advised to purchase travel insurance that provide care and services for sickness, Accidents, emergency rescue, ted. Related to international travel.

Cancellation policy:
  • Cancellations prior to 90 days from the start of the trek — 90% refund
  • Cancellation between 89 days and 40 days to the start of the trek — 50% refund
  • Cancellation less than 39 days to the start of the trek — no refund.
  • If a trek is called off at the last moment due to Political unrest/ Natural calamity/ Unforeseen circumstances (like rains, earthquake, landslides, strike/bandh etc.), Nisarga Bhraman will not be responsible and will not give any refund.
  • Drop out during trek: If for some reason a participant has to drop out from the trek on any day then Nisarga Bhraman, will make arrangements for his/her return up-to base camp. The travelling & stay cost has to be borne by the participant.

Note- 
  • Trekker must carry his/her backpack by himself if someone requires an off-loading or personal porter, ask while bookings so we can arrange accordingly. Charges extra.

Rules & Regulations
  • Consumption of alcohol, Drugs, Narcotics is strictly banned on the event & should lead to expulsion from the trek
  • The leader’s decision will be final and binding on all members. No arguments will be entertained
  • Each member will be responsible for his/her own safety and baggage
  • Avoid medication such as sleeping tablets, sedatives, strong painkillers, and anti-histamines Which depress the respiration and increase the risk of AMS- (Acute Mountain Sickness) especially while sleeping
  • Please do not wear any jewellery or gold chains/rings
  • Please do not litter, we believe in the saying, “Wherever you go, leave only your footprints and take back only memories.”
