Day 1- Saturday 06 Aug'22
-Report at base camp Shitkhadi village (Sonamarg)
(Altitude: 7,800 ft; 90 kms drive from Shrinagar)
Report Srinagar airport before 2.00 pm then vehicle can be arranged from Srinagar airport till base camp
Campsite is near the Sindh river Shitkadi Village
Day 2- Sunday 07 Aug'22
-Base camp to Nichnai via Shekdur
(Altitude: 7,800 ft to 11,500 ft; 11 kms trek; ~8 hours)
After the breakfast we trek to Nichnai via Shekdur. The trail takes you through meadows, dense forests with Maple, Pine and Bhoj trees. Enjoy an awesome view of the Sonmarg Valley and the Thajiwas Glacier. We follow the Nichnai Stream as we trek from Shekdur to Nichnai.
The lunch will be near Nichnai stream, after Shekdur.
We will need to share our IDs at the Army check post before the start of trek.
Day 3- Monday 08 Aug'22
-Nichnai to Vishansar lake via Nachnai Pass
(Altitude: 11,500 ft to 12,000 ft via 13100 ft; 12 kms trek; ~7 hours)
The 1st Lake of the trek..... Trek from Nichnai to Nichnai Pass is of approx 1-½ hrs ascent and then descend till Vishansar camp site. The lake is just 15 min walk from the camp site. The campsite is a unique place with an open ground. Hordes of sheep and their shepherds are the regular visitors to the lake. The shepherds are well known for their interesting stories.
lunch will be at Vishansar campsite.
At the top of Nichnai Pass you can get B.S.N.L and Airtel network, which is the last point under mobile coverage area.
Day 4- Tuesday 09 Aug'22
-Acclimatization + Rest Day. (Weather condition Apply)
Based on the weather condition we will use the day for acclimatization at Vishansar or else move towards next camp site.
You may visit Kishansar lake, which is at approx 1 and half kms from our camp site
Day 5- Wednesday 10 Aug'22
-Vishansar lake to Gadsar via Gadsar Pass
(Altitude: 12,000 ft to 12,000 ft Via 13,750 ft; 14 kms trek; ~ 10 hrs)
The trail to Gadsar lake goes through Gadsar pass the highest point of the trek (13,750 ft). From Vishansar, the trail takes a steep ascent till Gadsar Pass. The Kishansar Lake is seen on the way. From the Gadsar pass till the camp site it is a gradual descend. We can spot the Gadsar lake en route. If whether is clear you might also spot the Glacier of Gadsar Lake. Our camp site is at 2 hrs walk from the Gadsar lake.
Pack lunch on the way.
Day 6- Thursday 11 Aug'22
-Gadsar to Satsar
(Altitude: 12,000 ft to 12,000 ft; 9 kms trek; ~ 6 hrs)
The trail is laden in vibrant flowers. Stasar twin lakes are between the middle of the mountain and are also known as mengen top, We will visit the Satsar twin lakes in the afternoon.
We need to share our IDs at another army check post en route.
Day 7- Friday 12 Aug'22
-Satsar to Gangabal twin lakes via Zaj Pass
(Altitude: 12,000 ft to 11,500 ft to 13,000 ft; 11 kms trek; ~ 6 hrs)
The trail is goes through the rocky patch and an ascend till Jazz Pass. At the pass, you can enjoy views of the 4 lakes, Mt. Harmukh and its glacier. From the pass we descend till the Gangbal lake and camp at Nandkol lake. We visit the Gangbal Lake, which is one of the largest lake during the trek.
Post dinner, a team of Kashmiri staff will perform their traditional songs and dance.
Day 8- Saturday 13 Aug'22
-Gangabal to Naranag
(Altitude: 11,500 ft to 7,450 ft; 15 kms trek; ~ 7 hrs; then Drive to Srinagar)
The trail is a complete descent through Pine tree forest till the last point of the trek – Naranag.
